Encounter Weekends are cloistered weekends. It is necessary to attend all aspects of the weekend. We encourage guests to arrive on-time and stay until dismissal on Sunday. If you are unable to attend the full weekend, please plan to attend at another time.

 CHECK-IN

 Conference Center ~ last building at the end of the property. Please park n the paved parking lot at the Conference Center.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Ohio ncounter Weekends are held at Camp Swonkey, located in the beautiful scenic Fort Ancient Valley area of Oregonia, Ohio. Guests and Servers will be housed in the same facility, but not in the same rooms. There are bathrooms/showers in each room. Bed linens and towels will be provided. Guests and server should supply their own toiletry products (ie: towels, shampoo/conditioner, hairdryer, etc). Special needs accommodations are available upon request EMAIL US.

 

 

WHAT TO BRING

•  Bedding is provided: however, if you prefer, please bring

• • Your own pillow
  • Extra blanket

•  Personal toiletry items

• • CPAP and Electronic devices - please bring an extension cord for any necessary electronic device

•  Comfortable clothing - dress is casual (jeans & t-shirts). please bring appropriate outerwear and comfortable shoes.

•  Flashlight - all pathways are well lit. we ask attendees have a flashlight for their rooms at night.
•  Umbrella - for outdoor transitions between housing, dining, and conference/chapel buildings.
•  Bible - while we recognize many people use Bible apps on their mobile devices, we encourage guests to limit use to fully engage in their Encounter.
•  Water bottle and/or Coffee Mug

 

Due to allergies, we ask you avoid wearing strongly scented perfumes, colognes, lotions,

or using diffusers during the weekend.

From Cincinnati, OH

Take I-75N towards Columbus / US 50E. Stay on 1-71 until you come to Exit 36 - Wilmington Road. Turn right onto Wilmington Road. Stay on Wilmington Road until you come to Middleboro Road (1 miles). Turn Right on Middleboro Road. In approximately 1.3 miles, Camp Swonkey will be on your right. Follow the road all the way through the campground to the back to the property. The Conference Center is the last property on the grounds. (41 mins. / 36 miles)

 

From Dayton, OH

Take I-75 towards Cincinnati until you come to Exit 38, OH 73 / Franklin / Spingboro. Turn left onto E. 2nd Street (OH 73). Continue on OH 73 until you see the signs for Clarksville Road (25.2 miles). Turn right onto Clarksville Road. Stay on Clarksville Road (3.9 miles) until deadends and turn right onto Oregonia Road. Follow Oregonia Road (1.5 miles) and turn left onto Murray Road. Continue on Murray Road (.6 miles), continuing on Olive Branch Road. Stay on Olive Branch Road 1.5 miles and turn right onto Wilmington Road. In approx. .2 miles, turn left onto Middleboro Road.  Continue for approx. 1.3 miles, Camp Swonkey will be on your right. Follow the road all the way through the campground to the back to the property. The Conference Center is the last property on the grounds. (47 mins / 34.2 miles)

 

From Atlanta, GA

Take I-75N towards Chattanooga / I-575/ GA-5. Continue on i-75N to Exit 385 towards Lexington / Knoxville by-pass onto I-75N / I-640E. Take Exit 3 towards Lexington onto I-75N. Continue on I-75N until you see I-75N toward Georgetown / Cincinnati and keep right. Stay on I-75N until you come to I-71 / I-75 (Brent Spence Bridge). Keep right onto I-75N towards Columbus / US 50E. Stay on 1-71 until you come to Exit 36 - Wilmington Road. Turn right onto Wilmington Road. Stay on Wilmington Road until you come to Middleboro Road (1 miles). Turn Right on Middleboro Road. In approximately 1.3 miles, Camp Swonkey will be on your right.
